Volunteers Needed for IEEE Canada's Translation Committee
The IEEE Canada's Translation Committee welcomes translator volunteers to meeting the needs of IEEE Canada's many publications, groups and activities.
Whether you are new to the translation world or in need of populating your CV with quality references, there are always volunteer translation opportunities available, including the IEEE Canadian Review, the Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, IEEE Canada Newsletters, the annual IEEE Canada Awards Ceremony Program, IEEE Canada Bylaws, welcome speeches, conference materials, and other assignments too!
You do not need to give up a great deal of your time to volunteer as a translator. The time you devote is up to you. seminar: Power Systems - Making the Right Decisions
The IEEE Southern Alberta PES/IAS Chapter is holding a 2-day seminar "Power Systems - Making the Right Decisions", Feb 22-23, 2016 in Calgary. More information at: https://meetings.vtools.ieee.org/m/36537
This seminar will be of interest to engineers who need a deeper understanding of the power system in order to make better business decisions. Participants will gain an understanding of the physical aspects of power system components, and how they fit and work together. At the end of the seminar, the participant will be able to ask the right questions with the ultimate objective of saving their company time and money.
Out-of-town delegates can receive preferred hotel accommodation rates at the Carriage House Inn. Companies sending multiple delegates have the option of sending a purchase order, and will receive discounts off the standard IEEE member and non-member rates. Discounts are also available to unemployed engineers, and IEEE student and graduate student members.

IEEE IAS ESTMP Workshop 2016
IEEE IAS Electrical Safety, Technical and Mega Projects Workshop will be held atMarriott River Cree, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, March 14-16, 2016.
The IEEE IAS ESTMP Workshop provides a forum for exchanging and advancing industry knowledge in the areas of electrical safety, engineering design, and system reliability as well as the implementation and execution of Mega Projects. The Workshop focus will be to share innovative concepts, successes as well as lessons learned in the areas of:
- advancing the application of state of the art knowledge and best practices
- stimulating innovation in creating the next generation of technology and
- design and implementation of Mega Projects
