IEEE Ottawa Robotics Competition hit front cover of the media

The 15th Annual IEEE Ottawa Robotics Competition has made front cover of the Metro Ottawa newspaper. The annual IEEE Ottawa Robotics Competition encourages students from Grades 5 to 12 to develop an early interest in science, technology, and engineering. IEEE Ottawa section is very proud of the students for achieving recognition for their efforts, and would like to express its appreciation to Co-Chairs Heidi Li, David Huynh and the Ottawa Robotics Competition team for well deserved recognition in the media and for the countless hours they have put into this event.

IEEE Canada member involves in IEEE IES' IETTN project

Marc Perron, senior member of the IEEE Canada Quebec section, has been involved in a new project - IETTN (Industrial Electronics Technology Transfer News) from IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. IETTN is a new digital publication, it's a major initiative that contributes to the development of a technology transfer ecosystem specific to the industrial electronics sector. It fosters links between research centres and the electronics industry, and will promote startup success stories or new products launched as a result of technology transfer agreements. IETTN is also an ideal showcase for government and private organizations, and any innovation ecosystem that supports and finances the development of new startup companies.

The IETTN publication is open to all and subscription is FREE:http://iettn.ieee-ies.org.

Call for Nominations: IEEE Awards

The IEEE Awards Board administers the highest medals, awards, and recognitions presented by IEEE on behalf of the IEEE Board of Directors. All IEEE members are encouraged to submit a nomination for a worthy candidate within their technical fields.

Nominations are due 15 June annually for IEEE Medals and IEEE Recognitions. IEEE Medals are the highest recognition within the IEEE awards hierarchy, with the prestigious IEEE Medal of Honor as the premier award. They embrace broad and significant contributions within the technical fields of interest of IEEE. IEEE Recognitions reward member's individual contributions to IEEE, published papers, and corporate advancements within the IEEE fields of interest. Recipients of IEEE Medals and Recognitions are recognized at the annual IEEE Honors Ceremony.

Nomination forms and award-specific criteria can be downloaded from:
http://www.ieee.org/about/awards/medals/index_%20medals.html, and
