IEEE Young Professionals Southern Alberta Section sponsored graduate students of University of Calgary attending the IEEE Rising Stars Conference, held in Las Vegas, USA from 2-4 Jan'15.

IEEE Rising Stars Conference provides a great opportunity for the most promising students and young professionals to network and be inspired by each other and the top tech companies from around the world.

The group of graduate students of University of Calgary who attended the Rising Stars Conference engaged a large-scale interaction with IEEE USA President, IEEE SIGHT Global Chair, IEEE Region 6 director, IEEE SIGHT Region 6 Chair, IEEE Young Professionals Global Chair, IEEE WIE Stanford Chair and members from all over North America.

IHTC 2015

International Humanitarian Technology Conference 2015 (IHTC15) will be held in in Ottawa on May 31 - June 4, 2015. Registration is Open.

Want to use your technical, business, and caring skills to help communities become resilient? An opportunity to learn, connect, communicate and collaborate with those that know how or want too, is at the IHTC15. Workshops, tutorials, keynotes, panels and technical papers will be rounded out by a Community Engagement Program, IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) hosted sessions, and a limited launch of the 11th Parallel Competition.

ICIP 2015

The 22nd International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP 2015) will be held in Québec City on Sept 27-30, 2015.

The International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, is the premier forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied image and video processing. ICIP 2015, the twenty second in the series that has been held annually since 1994, brings together leading engineers and scientists in image and video processing from around the world. Research frontiers in fields ranging from traditional image processing applications to evolving multimedia and video technologies are regularly advanced by results first reported in ICIP technical sessions.

Topics include Image/video coding and transmission, Image/video processing; Image formation; Image scanning, display, and printing; Image/video storage, retrieval, and authentication and applications in biomedical sciences, mobile imaging, geosciences & remote sensing, astronomy & space exploration, document image processing and analysis, other applications
