Masoud Farzaneh honored by IEEE DEIS

At the occasion of the gala evening of the IEEE Conference eon Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (CEIDP), October 20, 2015 at Ann Arbor U.S.A., Professor Masoud Farzaneh was presented with a plaque recognizing his outstanding services to IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society (DEIS) by Dr. Frank Hegeler, President of DEIS.

This special recognition underlines the long-term dedicated service of Masoud Farzaneh, Professor at University of Quebec in Chicoutimi, within the framework of DEIS and IEEE. As scientist and leader, he has chaired many working groups of IEEE resulting in the publication of a dozen Position Papers and Standards. He has also been involved in various DEIS projects, in particular as member of the administrative (AdCom) and executive committees, Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, as well as Chair of the Nominations and Appointments Committee. In 2012 and 2013, he was respectively Technical Vice-President and Administrative Vice-President and, in 2014, he was elected President of IEEE DEIS.

Dr. Farzaneh is a Fellow of IEEE and recipient of the 2013 Whitehead Memorial Award of DEIS.

Tushar Sharma received MGA Young Professionals Achievement Award

Tushar Sharma, IEEE Southern Alberta Section, has been selected as a 2015 recipient of the MGA Young Professionals Achievement Award for the outstanding efforts to promote young professional member engagement and development by promoting IEEE MGA goals and strategies through activities and programs at the Chapter, Society, Section, and Region levels.
