MGA Outstanding Section Awards

Congratulations to the winners. For the second consecutive year, the honor has been upon Region 7!

The IEEE Ottawa Section is the recipient of the 2010 IEEE MGA Outstanding Large Section Award and the IEEE London Section is the recipient of the 2010 IEEE MGA Outstanding Small Section Award.

Congratulations to both Sections. It is a good recognition of their achievements. Thanks for your efforts and hard work.

It is the second year in a row that both the Large and Small Outstanding Section Awards have gone to Sections within IEEE Canada.

Carleton University EMBS Student Club Outstanding Performance Award

The Carleton University EMBS Student Club has been selected by the EMBS Member& Student Activities Committee as the recipient of the 2011 EMBS Outstanding Performance Award.

The recognition associated with this award consists of a $500 USD honorarium and reimbursement of up to $1,000 USD for travel, registration and accommodation expenses for the Chapter Chair to attend the EMBS Awards Presentation Ceremony at the Annual Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

This year's Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at 2 PM.

Congratulations on this well deserved honor!

UNB students win 2011 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Student Design Contest

Entitled "The Design of an Economical Antenna Gain and Radiation Pattern Measurement System", the project won the first prize in the 2011 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Student Design Contest. On July 6, 2011, the award presentation was made at the 2011 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting.

The cost of the hardware, a travel subsidy, and the award was provided by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. Significant additional support was provided by the IEEE New Brunswick Section, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Office of the University of New Brunswick President.

IEEE International Conference on Communications

Since 1965 the IEEE International Conference on Communications has been one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society. IEEE ICC brings together the world's leaders, scientists, policy makers from industry and academia. The IEEE Ottawa Section is proud to host IEEE ICC 2012 Conference and Exhibition from 10-15 June 2012 where recent advances in the field of communications will be presented.

The theme of the conference is "CONNECT o COMMUNICATE o COLLABORATE". For participants it promises to stimulate the scientific exchange of ideas, the identification of future trends in communications, and the illumination of business opportunities. The conference program will feature 12 technical symposia, 16 industrial forums, keynote presentations, several workshops, and tutorials.
