RIM Will Offer New Career Opportunities on the IEEE Job Site!
Research in Motion (RIM) has agreed to post a large
number of technology job openings on the IEEE Job Site
within the next two weeks. To take advantage of
these new opportunities, it is strongly recommended
that you register your candidate profile and post
a resume with the Job Site now.
The IEEE Job Site is an online recruitment service
that offers all IEEE members exclusive, free access to
real-time job-matching capabilities. You can use your
IEEE Web Account to register a job candidate profile
in five easy steps:
- Visit http://www.ieee.org/jobs
- Click on the "IEEE Members" link.
- Choose "Register/profile your ideal job" on the landing page.
- Complete the basic information for your job candidate profile.
(professional skills, required salary, location of desired position,
etc.).
- Post your resume online and set up a job search agent.
Positions of interest will be routed automatically to you by e-mail.
If you choose the "anonymous" option, your identity will remain hidden
until you decide to reveal it to prospective employers. Take advantage of
the expanding technology job opportunities throughout the global
community.
Recruit a colleague, earn credit towards IEEE dues
Did you know that you can earn credit toward your 2006 IEEE dues when you
refer a colleague to join IEEE? Through the IEEE Member-Get-A-Member
program, current IEEE Members can receive a US$5 credit towards next year's
dues for every new member that they recruit. New members joining between
now and the end of August pay half-year rates, and receive membership
through the remainder of 2005. For the rules of the IEEE
Member-Get-A-Member program, plus tips on recruitment, visit
http://www.ieee.org/mgm.
IEEE Student Members, take advantage of the IEEE Student-Get-A-Student
program http://www.ieee.org/sgs. Awarding non-IEEE entities that support IEEE units
The Friend of IEEE Regional Activities Award was created specifically to
recognize support provided to the IEEE and its members in support of its
goals by firms, divisions of firms or individuals. The award is a plaque or
certificate for the recipient. Nominations may be submitted at any time
during the year.
At a recent Regional Activities Board meeting, the following were approved
to be recipients of the Sustaining or Supporting Friend of IEEE Regional
Activities Awards:
- Boeing Corporation, St. Louis Missouri, Region 5 (Sustaining Friend
Award): For their continued support for member professional activities and
education within the IEEE Saint Louis Section.
- University of Toronto-Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, Toronto,
Ontario, Region 7 (Supporting Friend Award): For ongoing support to the
Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering.
- Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA), United Arab Emirates, Region 8
(Supporting Friend Award): In appreciation of their efforts to encourage
IEEE activities and sponsor IEEE events in United Arab Emirates.
The link for the nomination form is available at the RAB Awards Website:
http://www.ieee.org/rabawards.
